Since its launch in 2010 at Platt Fields Park with a line-up featuring Calvin Harris and Friendly Fires, Parklife Festival has been a staple in the calendar for many Manchester students. Filling the void left by The Warehouse Project’s much-felt absence over summer, the festival brings the biggest names in dance and electronic music to Heaton Park since a decision was made in 2013 to increase attendance numbers. This year, Calvin Harris is due to return, taking over the park alongside Saturday headliner Sammy Virji, and an undercard boasting names such as Skepta, Nia Archives, and Parklife veterans 4am Kru.
Returning stage sponsors include Worried About Henry, who will host the Magic Sky stage once again on the festival’s Saturday. As one of the UK’s biggest electronic music brands, they are due to bring some of the most popular names in drum and bass, including Wilkinson, Andy C, and Hedex. Bou is due to return after a set on the same stage at last year’s edition, bringing his signature fusion of jump-up and rollers which can be heard in smash hits such as ‘Baddadan’. The following day, Magic Sky will be headlined by Obskür, who delivered a standout set in 2025 and will appear this time after some exciting new names including Omar+ and Riordan.
Ghosts of Garage will return to their rightful home at the G Stage for both days of the festival, hosting sets from Bushbaby, Osmosis Jones and Douvelle19 to name but a few. Fans of electronic music are likely to recognise acts such as Bakey and Shy FX from their respective appearances at The Warehouse Project, as the former delivered a heavy performance as part of Sammy Virji’s curated line-up, and the latter brought his blend of jungle-inflected drum and bass to the annual Repercussion event.
New for 2026 is the Panorama stage, building on the former Hangar stage with a wraparound LED screen unparalleled in size and scale. Hitmakers such as Silva Bumpa and Ewan McVicar are due to be amongst the first to perform in the upgraded set-up, while KETTAMA will continue his run of unstoppable festival seasons and Rossi. will return to Manchester following an intimate show at YES in support of War Child. The fifth and final stage is Matinée, which will feature sets from Marlon Hoffstadt, Mall Grab, and hometown hero Morgan Seatree on the Saturday.
XXL, The Warehouse Project’s flagship techno showcase, will bring Manchester-based talent Faster Horses to the Matinée stage following his headline show at Albert Hall, this time to go back-to-back with his previous support act Benwal. The Matinée stage might be the star of the Sunday, also bringing renowned international talent in the form of ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U for his first return to the city since his appearance at Overmono’s takeover of The Warehouse Project in October.
A name that particularly stands out at The Valley, the festival’s main stage, is Zara Larsson. Larsson is no stranger to Manchester, having performed at Manchester Academy in support of her third studio album VENUS, and O2 Victoria Warehouse in support of its follow-up, the unavoidable Midnight Sun. With her 2016 single ‘Lush Life’ going viral once again, she’s guaranteed to deliver a set full of hits, dancers and dolphins.
Parklife Festival has been a standout weekend for Manchester students since its launch, and 2026 looks to be no different. With various sub-genres of dance music to choose from, as well as rap stars such as Skepta and a pop sensation in the form of Zara Larsson, there truly is something for everyone. The festival will take place on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June.
